Exploring the vast landscapes of Elden Ring often leads players to hidden corners filled with danger and valuable rewards. Tucked away in the western cliffs of Liurnia of the Lakes, the Road's End Catacombs stands out as one of the most mechanically unique minor dungeons in the game. Navigating this subterranean labyrinth requires keen observation skills because it relies heavily on illusions to mislead eager adventurers.

Locating the Hidden Entrance

Finding the entrance to this specific dungeon can be quite challenging if you do not know where to look. Adventurers should start from the Minor Erdtree in Southwest Liurnia and ride along the narrow cliffside paths heading further west. The heavy stone doors are nestled deeply within the rocky walls, guarded by several wandering spectral enemies that roam the immediate area.

Once you step inside and activate the Site of Grace, the initial layout might seem unusually brief. This superficial simplicity is entirely intentional, designed to trick players into thinking the area holds no secrets. Preparing your lantern or a reliable torch is highly recommended before diving deeper into the dim chambers ahead.

Dispelling the Illusory Walls

The primary gimmick defining this dungeon is its massive reliance on illusory walls that mask the actual progression routes. Striking these solid-looking stone structures reveals entirely new corridors filled with ambush squads of small, aggressive Imps. Carefully monitoring the corners of each room will prevent these swift creatures from depleting your health bars instantly.

Progression through the lower levels demands that you strike multiple false walls consecutively to find the main lever. Missing just one hidden alcove can result in running in circles through empty rooms for extended periods. Keen eyes will notice slight inconsistencies in the brick patterns that hint at a hidden pathway nearby.

Defeating the Spirit Caller Snail

After pulling the lever and unlocking the heavy heavy doors, you will face a deceptively tricky boss encounter. Upon entering the misty arena, a massive spectral warrior will materialize to aggressively attack you with heavy strikes. However, attacking this giant warrior directly is a trap, as the true threat remains completely invisible.

The actual master of the arena is a small Spirit Caller Snail hiding quietly in one of the dark corners. Players must watch for a faint, localized glow on the floor to pinpoint the creature's exact position. Striking the physical body of the snail quickly disrupts its summoning magic and secures a swift victory for the Tarnished.
